Why our watermakers?

Advantages and features of our filter systems

Rückspülfunktion
Efficient backwash function
Significantly longer filter runtimes
  • All our filter systems flush the pre-filter in the process water stage in addition to the osmosis membrane for drinking water production. This not only enables a much more compact design, it also noticeably relieves the downstream filters and thus significantly extends the filter runtimes.
Brauch- und Trinkwasser
Service & drinking water
Energy-saving and compact design
  • Filtration in our water treatment systems takes place in 2 stages. The production of industrial water is much faster and does not normally require osmosis membrane filtration, so only produce your drinking water for drinking or cooking and save time, energy and filter costs.
UVC-Desinfektion
Powerful UV disinfection
Removes bacteria and viruses safely
  • Disinfect your service water and drinking water highly effectively and reliably with 24 watts (service water) and 6-11 watts (drinking water) of UVC radiation before it reaches your water and drinking water tank. Find out more about disinfection with UV light here.
Plug & Play
Connect the water and you're done
Our filter systems are supplied ready to use with all filters. You simply connect the water and the power supply.
Nearly maintenance-free
Handling without additional effort
Except for regular filter changes every 6-12 months, there is virtually no maintenance required during operation.
Can be used anywhere
On the water or on land
Operate the filter system wherever you need it. Thanks to its compact design, the device can be used practically anywhere.
Quiet operation
Brushless membrane pump
We use the latest generation of brushless membrane pumps in all our filter systems for low-noise filtration.
Standard connections
With Geka and quick coupling
Our watermakers come with standardised connections, so they are easy to put into operation.

FAQ

Answers about our water filter systems

  • From what boat size?

As long as there is space available on the boat, the size of the boat is less relevant than how the boat is used. Small cabin boats often lack the necessary space and the need to be able to produce utility or drinking water at any time. Our systems are interesting for boat owners who use their boat regularly or have integrated it into their lifestyle. As soon as cooking or dishwashing is needed on board, larger amounts of water are usually required.

  • Why are utility and drinking water separated?

Filtering drinking water is technically much more complex than filtering utility water. This means lower water yield, higher energy consumption, and significantly higher costs for the filters or reverse osmosis membranes. The utility water from our filter systems is completely free of suspended and solid particles and, thanks to a 24W UVC disinfection, is suitable for showering, handwashing, dishwashing, and of course the toilet. Using highly purified drinking water for this would drastically reduce filter life and significantly increase the cost of filter replacements, as filters would need to be changed more frequently.

  • How difficult is it to install in my boat?

Our systems are delivered pre-assembled and ready to use. You only need to connect the water inlet and outlet for both the utility and drinking water stages, and you can immediately use the filter systems. The systems already come fully equipped with suitable filters, and a detailed manual is included with all our watermakers.

  • What quality does the filtered water have?

When used properly, the end product from our watermakers is nearly chemically pure H₂O, with all important minerals re-added afterward. The water purification process of our reverse osmosis systems removes more than 99.7% of all mechanical, biological, and chemical contaminants and pollutants. One way to measure the purity of the water is to check the level of dissolved solids (salts). The PPM value (parts per million) indicates how many non-water molecules remain in the water. A good value is between 0 and 20 PPM. It’s important to measure this before remineralization—directly after the membrane of the reverse osmosis cylinder.

  • Are the watermakers suitable for saltwater?

In principle, the process of reverse osmosis can be applied to any liquid containing water. However, the osmotic pressure of saltwater is about 30 times higher than that of freshwater. Our watermakers are designed for a working pressure of up to 8 bar and are therefore suitable only for use in inland water (freshwater).

  • With or without hull fitting?

The boat can generally remain in the water during installation. Water intake is via a hose over the railing or an existing hull fitting. This should be at least 40 cm below the waterline and have a diameter of at least 3/4". Alternatively, the system can be supplied with water via a hose with a check valve and debris strainer (available optionally), without any modifications to the boat or houseboat.

  • Are the water filter systems winterproof?

The components of the filter system are not winterproof (frost-resistant) and must be additionally protected from frost damage at temperatures below 0°C. The simplest way is to relieve all water-carrying components of pressure. This is easiest done by removing the filter housings to prevent any pressure buildup. To operate the system in winter, we recommend installing heating cables (approx. €3.00/m) or frost guards around the components and hose connections. A detailed guide for winterproofing the system is also included in the manual.

Watermakers for boats and houseboats in inland areas

Filter systems for the production of drinking water and service water

Despite the fact that we are surrounded by an almost inexhaustible supply of it on our boats, the utilisation of seawater for water requirements on board is still not a matter of course today. Fresh water reserves are still mainly stored in marinas and yacht harbours, where hygiene standards are often well below the required minimum. Bacterial strains, biological cultures and deposits within the pipes and tanks are often the result of years of careless use.

In addition, the limited size of the water tanks on the boat is a further hurdle in the utilisation and storage of water reserves. The conversion of seawater (inland) into drinking water offers the possibility of utilising this resource almost indefinitely and with little technical effort at any time. Our space-saving and efficient water treatment systems give you access to absolutely pure, high-quality drinking water at all times.

Reliability and self-sufficiency

Reverse osmosis processes, which are generally used by watermakers in the maritime sector, combined with pre-filters and disinfection measures, offer a safe and easy-to-use solution for producing the purest drinking water from contaminated seawater (inland). The functional principle of osmosis enables drinking water to be produced with little technical effort, regardless of the degree of contamination of the source water. Through the intelligent use of professional pre-filters and reliable UV disinfection (or alternatively with chlorine), you can obtain industrial and drinking water from practically any body of water.

The result of these comprehensive treatment processes is absolutely pure water of outstanding quality when used properly. Mechanical, chemical, pharmaceutical and biological contaminants are reliably removed.

Sustainable environmental protection through water filter systems

The use of modern water filter systems contributes significantly to the protection of inland waters and the sustainable use of natural and personal resources. By using appropriate filter systems, boat users can treat water from rivers and lakes without having to rely on external drinking water supplies. This reduces the ecological footprint as there is no need to transport fresh water and plastic waste from disposable bottles is avoided. At the same time, contaminated or chemically treated waste water is prevented from entering the environment. The use of local water sources in combination with sustainable filter technologies therefore makes an important contribution to water protection and a self-sufficient water supply on board.
